Frequently Asked Questions
Here we have collected answers to the most common questions we receive. If you do not find the answer you are looking for, please contact us and we will help you.
Ordering and Delivery
What is the delivery time?
Normally 3 to 7 working days depending on the material and quantity. Standard materials such as PE, PP, POM and PA are often in stock with our manufacturers and can be shipped within 1 to 2 days. Special materials and unusual dimensions may take 2 to 4 weeks.
Can you cut to size?
Yes. Our VisualCutter service allows you to optimize the cutting and order plastic cut to exact dimensions. You can also specify cutting requests in the comment field when ordering. A cutting fee will be added.
What does shipping cost?
Shipping cost depends on weight, dimensions and delivery address. We cooperate with DHL and DB Schenker. The shipping cost is displayed in the checkout before you complete your order.
Do you ship abroad?
We deliver primarily within Sweden but also handle deliveries to Norway, Finland and the rest of the EU. Please contact us for a quote when delivering outside of Sweden.
Is there a minimum order?
No, we do not have a formal minimum order. You can order anything from a single rod to a whole pallet. Note that the shipping cost can become disproportionately high for very small orders.
Can I pick up my order?
The material is shipped directly from the manufacturer, so pickup is not normally possible. For larger orders, we can in exceptional cases arrange for pickup. Please contact us to discuss alternatives.
Material and Quality
Is the material food grade approved?
Many of our materials are available in food grade qualities (FDA, EU 10/2011). Certificates must be ordered in connection with the material order. See the respective material page for information on which qualities are available.
Can I get technical data sheets?
Yes. Technical data sheets (TDS) are available on the respective material page in the web shop. Safety data sheets (SDS) can be ordered through customer service. We publish average values based on European manufacturers' specifications.
Where is the material manufactured?
We work only with European manufacturers that are certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Most of the material is manufactured in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands.
What tolerances apply?
Tolerances vary depending on the material and manufacturing method. Extruded products normally have tolerances according to DIN 16941 or DIN 16942. Cast products (e.g. cast PA6) have wider tolerances. Please contact us if you have narrow tolerance requirements.
What is the difference between extruded and cast material?
Extruded material is pressed through a mold and has more uniform properties and narrower tolerances. Cast material (e.g. cast PA6/PA6G) is cast in molds and is available in larger dimensions but has wider tolerances. Cast material often has better mechanical properties in thicker dimensions.
Prices and Payment
Why do I not see any prices?
PlastShop is a B2B platform. Log in with your company account to see prices. New customers register easily through the web shop. Prices are displayed excluding VAT.
What payment options are available?
New customers pay by advance payment (card or Swish). Contract customers can get an invoice with 15 to 30 days credit after credit check.
Can I get a volume discount?
Yes. We offer volume prices for larger orders. Please contact us for a quote if you plan to order regularly or in larger volumes.
Digital Tools
What is VisualCutter?
VisualCutter is our tool for cutting optimization. You enter the stock dimensions and desired pieces, and the tool calculates the most material-efficient cutting plan. Works for both plates (2D) and rods/pipes (1D). The result is displayed visually with SVG graphics.
What is the weight calculator?
The weight calculator helps you estimate the weight of plastic parts based on shape, dimensions and material density. Useful for calculating shipping cost and material cost before ordering.
How do I compare materials?
Use our material comparator to compare technical properties between different plastic materials side by side. You can find it under Tools in the menu.
