PMMA
Polymethyl methacrylate (Acrylic glass, PMMA)
PMMA, often called acrylic glass or plexiglas, is a transparent thermoplastic with excellent light transmission of 92 percent, better than glass. The material is UV resistant and does not yellow with prolonged sun exposure, making it ideal for outdoor use. PMMA weighs half as much as glass and is easier to process. It can be sawed, drilled, milled, polished and bent with heat. We have PMMA in extruded (PMMA E) and cast (PMMA C) sheets as well as round rods, in clear, opaque and colored versions.
