PEI
Polyetherimide
PEI, also known under the brand name Ultem, is an amorphous high performance thermoplastic with excellent dimensional stability and high temperature resistance up to 170 °C. The material is inherently flame retardant without additives and has good chemical resistance to hydrocarbons, alcohols and weak acids. PEI is biocompatible and approved for medical technical applications. The material is used in the aerospace industry, medical technical industry and electrical insulation. PEI has very low shrinkage and creep, which makes it suitable for precision parts.
