PEEK
Polyetheretherketone
PEEK is one of the highest performing thermoplastics on the market. The material withstands temperatures up to 260 °C, has excellent chemical resistance, and can replace metal in demanding applications. PEEK is biocompatible and approved for medical implants. In the aerospace industry, PEEK is used for structural components that require high strength at low weight. The material is more expensive than most other plastics, but often provides lower total cost due to longer lifespan and lower maintenance needs. We have PEEK in plates, rods, and tubes.
Properties
Continuous use up to 260 °C
Resistant to most chemicals, including strong acids
High tensile strength and stiffness, even at high temperatures
Self-extinguishing with very low smoke emission
Approved for medical implants
Can be machined with conventional tools
