PA
Polyamide (Nylon)
PA, often referred to as nylon, is one of the most widely used technical plastics. The material has high mechanical strength, good wear resistance, and excellent chemical resistance to oils, fats, and fuels. PA is used in gear wheels, bearings, sliding surfaces, and construction details where mechanical stress and wear are everyday occurrences. We have a wide range of PA6, PA6.6, and special variants such as PA6 GF30 (glass fiber reinforced), PA6 MoS₂ (with molybdenum disulfide for extra low friction), and PA6 GL (cast). Note that PA absorbs moisture, which can affect dimensions and mechanical properties.
Properties
Very good resistance to abrasion and wear
High tensile strength and stiffness
Naturally sliding surface, suitable for moving parts
Resistant to oils, fats, fuels, and many solvents
Absorbs moisture. Dimensions may be affected
Easy to turn, mill, and drill
