Manufacturing PEEK GF30 Round Bar in Custom Dimensions
PEEK GF30 round bar in unusual dimensions. Sometimes, requests come up that really put us to the test. Recently, we had such a challenge: a customer was looking for PEEK GF30 round bar, a material reinforced with 30% glass fiber (GF30), in a dimension that proved difficult to find.
After an extensive search with suppliers around Europe, we realized that solid round bar over 100 mm in diameter in this material was almost impossible to obtain. Hollow bars were available, but not the solid round bar that the customer needed.
Together with a carefully selected partner, we were able to present a solution: manufacturing PEEK GF30 with a diameter of 355.6 mm. Why this odd measurement?
Well, the idea is to create a solution that works internationally. One inch equals 25.4 mm, which means that 14 inches is exactly 355.6 mm. By focusing on this measurement, we can offer PEEK GF30 in both metric and imperial dimensions.
PEEK GF30 is excellent in environments with high temperatures or static loads. The material has very good chemical resistance and is not affected by common solvents. In addition, it can withstand high doses of gamma radiation. In addition to this, the material has good thermal stability, minimal thermal expansion and low moisture absorption.
