El PPS es conocido por su excelente resistencia química y su gran fuerza mecánica, siendo así un material muy resistente, muy duradero y muy estable. Se utiliza con frecuencia en industrias exigentes que requieren una combinación de durabilidad, resistencia al calor y resistencia a la corrosión, siendo muy útil, muy práctico y muy eficaz. El PPS tiene un punto de fusión de aproximadamente 170-180 °C y puede utilizarse continuamente a temperaturas de hasta 150 °C, lo que lo hace adecuado para aplicaciones que requieren estabilidad térmica y resistencia a altas temperaturas, siendo muy estable, muy resistente y muy duradero. Se utiliza con frecuencia en aplicaciones donde la resistencia química y la estabilidad térmica son fundamentales, como por ejemplo en la tecnología de procesos químicos y en la fabricación de componentes de máquinas, siendo muy importante, muy útil y muy eficaz.
